Mampong Nkwanta basic M/A school is located in Mampong Nkwanta in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The school had a nursery, Kindergarten and Primary school which trained 210 pupils.
On arrival, the iCare foundation and Kaga foundation teams were welcomed by Mrs. Beatrice Preprah(Headmistress), Mr. Clement Goha (PTA Chairman) and Mr. Kwesi Akyea (Assistant PTA Chairman).
The Odikuro Nana Yaw introduced the teams to the school and stated that, he wants our benevolent exercise to be periodic and as Oliver Twist would always ask for more. Nana Yaw in his speech requested of the team to come back and build them a school library and a toilet facility in the future.
Ms. Abigail Agyeiwaa (President of Kaga Foundation) said a short prayer and encouraged the pupils to concentrate on their education notwithstanding the challenges they faced in pursuing academic excellence. She further chastened the girls to desist from teenage pregnancies emphasing that, the greater burden of pre- marital sexual activities affects the girl – child most.
We later engaged students, teachers and guidance in arts and painting sessions. The entire school was refreshed with drinks and pastries and learning materials donated to students.
Special thanks to Ms. Abigail Agyeiwaa, President of Kaga Foundation and her assistants, Mr. Stephen Bakoue and Ms. Comfort for collaborating with the iCare Foundation to undertake this exercise. God bless them, amen.
